In the early 1980's, if you wanted a mountain bike you'd most likely have to custom order one from a bespoke frame builder - which often costs thousands. Montare Mountain Bikes was founded by Gary Fisher and was intended to reduce the barrier to entry into the fabulous mountain biking world. This is a very early, 1984 Montare, with mostly original parts. The parts that are not original are the saddle, handlebars, stem, and fork (maybe the seatpost too, I can't tell from the research I've done). Everything else is original - and Deer Head! This bike was dug out of a garage after sitting for years. This is an incredible piece of MTB history that deserves going to someone who will appreciate it (and maybe restore it?? :) ).

No dents or cracks in the frame - paint chips scattered throughout. Groupset also shows sign of use but is operational. Miss-match tires - rear does not have a tube. Fork is also seized.

This bike is being sold via eBay auction that can be found here!

Measurements:

Seat tube (ctt) - 55cm
