The Raleigh Portage is a purpose built touring bike. This particular 1984 example comes with all the bells and whistles. First, it has all the Cannondale bags! They look like they have never been used and are mounted to the equally as nice Blackburn racks. The rear bags even come with their original instructions. This bike also has a very unique drivetrain. You shift via the Deerhead friction shifters on the handlebars for the front and rear derailleurs, but if you need an extra gear, you can shift the hub gear via the friction shifter on the downtube! This comes in handy when you find yourself on the steeps! It's a beautiful, analog experience.  It also has not one, not two, but three bottle cages. It's ready to go touring straight out of the box!

This bike is in incredible condition. No dents, bends, or cracks in the frame. I looked everywhere and couldn't even find a chip in the paint. Everything was removed, cleaned, inspected, and then reinstalled. The frame was polished and waxed. It still has it's original Raleigh tires. New B17 saddle and grips. The rims are missmatch (front is a Raleigh and the rear is Araya), I suspect from when the rear hub was converted. This bike should be in a museum but I'd rather see someone ride it and enjoy it!

This is one of the coolest and nicest bikes to ever come through Ben's Cycles.
