This 1974 Raleigh Professional frame offers a very unique opportunity. You have the chance to restore this frame to its former glory from the ground up. The serial number is WK4003478. The "W," indicates the bike was made in the "workshop," where the higher end models built with Reynolds 531 and 753 were built. The "K," indicates the fortnight in which this bike was made. This frame was made on the 11th fortnight (22nd week) of that year of production. The first digit followed by the first two letters indicates the year of production. In this case, the year is 1974. This concludes that this bikes birthday is sometime at the end of May and was born in 1974. It was either finished in blue mink, silver, or black as these were the colors offered for this model in 74'.

No dents, cracks, or bends in the frame. The threads on the fork were chased and are ready to go. The bottom bracket threads could use a good clean/chase but aren't damaged. This frame will take some work before it is ready for paint but it is an incredibly opportunity. This bike is going up for online auction via eBay - bidding will start at $300. The link to the auction can be found here.
