You may as well ride a unicorn! This 1982 Specialized Stumpjumper was #407 to roll out of the Specialized factory.  The seat tube ovulates as it comes down to the bottom bracket shell where it's welded in place - a detail they only did for one year. The TA Crankset was another thing that only happened in 1982, and was quickly updated to a Sugino 3x by '83. This bike was fully refurbished - headset/bb were cleaned and reassembled, new tires and brake cables were fitted, and everything else was given a deep clean. The MKS pedals are so cool, but the left pedal is missing a dust cap. This bike is still wearing its original paint and parts, apart from the brake pads, bars, and front wheel. The rims are matching, but since the front wheel isn't original, the Araya hoop isn't laced to a Specialized hub. There are some paint chips and scrapes, some of which were touched up. The left chain-stay toward the dropouts has some scratching. The decals aren't perfect either. It's a rare bike, that some consider to be the first real production mountain bike ever.
